Character Introduction: Murexa
Meet Murexa (birth name “Alice”), focal character of “The Mephteria Saga” Book One:
A quarter-elf from the remote hamlet of Fernwood in the western Lakelands, Murexa left home as a child after an incident with her foster father. Since then, she has spent her days living incognito amongst humans while keeping her Elven heritage concealed.
Worried over being discovered as a descendant of the nearly extinct elves of Mephteria, Murexa drifts from place to place to avoid arousing suspicion over her identity. This has left her without a place she can call “home”.
After spending her early adolescence scraping out a living as a petty thief and briefly dirtying her hands in the racketeering trade, Murexa has recently transitioned into more honest means of employment, working as a courier out of the Mephterian capital city of Marston.
Years spent without a real home in a land that regards Elven people with distrust and violence have conditioned Murexa to remain wary of humans at all times, though she has often been seen in the company of a local baker, Isabel, and her daughter, Kaylin.
Murexa keeps a special keepsake with her at all times — a pair of daggers gifted to her when she was young. She named them after her late parents, Jonah and Mira, and has an established history of using them as a defensive tool over the years since.
She was recently dispatched by her employer to the port city of Laflin in the south for a priority delivery, though she seems to have been delayed in her return…
